August is here, and we are officially one month into this new Seminar year! Summer is winding down, the kids are heading back to school, and after enjoying a little well-deserved time playing hooky (which was so much fun!), it’s time to get back into a schedule, focus on our routines, and bring the heat!
I have always loved new beginnings because everyone starts at the exact same place. Have you ever just wanted a fresh start? Think of how great it feels to clean out a closet or reorganize your pantry. OH, I LOVE THAT FEELING! Neat shelves and everything in its place is so freeing. Imagine what you would find in your Mary Kay closet if you cleaned it out today? Forgotten prospects? Loyal customers ready for fall reorders? Maybe even the spark to get EXCITED about your business all over again!
Take a minute and really ponder this: If you KNEW you could NOT fail, what would you DREAM for yourself and your family this year? Remember, if you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always have what you have right now! Don’t dwell on goals set and missed in the past. Choose to focus on what is NEXT. Next keeps us moving forward, and whoever or whatever is next is your future.
I challenge you to go back to school in your career this month and stick to the basics: Book, Coach, Sell, and Share. You don't have to make massive moves overnight. Pick one simple habit--making 5 customer calls a day or booking 1 class a week--and repeat it. As Mary Kay loved to say, "Inch by inch, it's a cinch!"
